I am the youngest of 10 children; my beautiful Christian mother raised most of us by herself, after our father walked out, (I was only four months old at the time).

My mother is from Georgia and all of my ancestors from her side of the family are from Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia.  I am an eighth generation Floridian through my father's side of the family.  I am the person I am today, because of my Mama.  There are no words to convey to anyone how much she means to me. God blessed me double with having a wonderful mother and then sending a wonderful man into my life.  I met my husband Bobby in 1969, shortly after he came home from Vietnam; I was seventeen, he was twenty.  We were married in February of 1970.  We have grown and changed a lot over the years, but we are closer now than ever, and have a wonderful marriage, two children, and five grandchildren.

My sister Jane wanted me to join the UDC several years ago, but I wouldn't.  Even though I loved my Southland, I had been so brained washed in the public school system, along with the help of the media, that I thought that if anyone seen me in this group or associated me with the Confederate flag, they would think I was a racist, and that I am not, and never have been.  I see people as all God's children, and try to look for the good in them as such.

But then one night I watched a made for TV movie about the Hunley.  While watching a Northern ship off the coast of South Carolina attack the defenseless people in Charleston, and the brave spirit of my fellow Southerners of that time, I realized there was a lot more to the "Civil War", than I had been told; this was the beginning of my research and eye opening experience.  I started buying books and reading; I wanted books that told me the truth and could back up what was written with cold hard facts.  There are tons of these books, but two that stand out in my mind are:  "The South Was Right", by Kennedy and Kennedy, and "When In The Course of Human Events", by Charles Adams.  Needless to say, I don't refer to it as the "Civil War" anymore; it is... "The War for Southern Independence", or... "The War of Northern Aggression."

I love America; I have ancestors that have fought in every war for the freedom of this country, from the Revolutionary War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Germany, Vietnam and any other war you can name, and I not only have the right, but I owe it to my Confederate ancestors and to all that have gone before me, to help vindicate their good names from all the hate, lies, and un-truths told about them and that period of time in the history of America; I dedicate my web-site to them.

Thank you Mama for your love and all the sacrifices you made... you are the wind beneath my wings!

Thank you crew of the Hunley and all the men of the Confederacy who gave their all to defend their homes and families; we will not forget... you too are the wind beneath my wings!
