Pork Irish Stew Recipe

1/2 pounds pork, leg or shoulder, cut in large squares
1 1/2 cabbages, washed, cored, cut in large pieces
4 carrots, peeled, quartered
4 turnips, peeled, quartered
6 onions, peeled, quartered
6 potatoes, peeled, quartered
water
salt and pepper according to taste
Put all ingredients, except the potatoes, in a kettle. Cover with
water.
Place cover on kettle and cook for about 45 minutes. Add the potatoes and let boil until potatoes are cooked.
Serve with Southern cornbread.
