Irish Sweet Bread

1/4 cup real butter 1 cup white sugar 2 eggs, beaten 2 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 1 pinch salt 1 cup sour cream 1 cup raisins |
Preheat oven to 350°
In a mixing bowl, blend butter and sugar together until smooth. Beat eggs in one at a time; add sour cream. Sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt together, blend in sour cream. Fold in raisins. Pour into a 9x5 well-greased loaf pan. Bake in a 350° oven for 50 to 60 minutes. To test for doneness: A toothpick will come out clean when inserted near the center.
