Mama's Corn Beef and Cabbage

1 large head cabbage

sliced bacon

1 can corned beef

Cook bacon in bottom of large pot or dutch oven do not drain grease from bacon, this is for flavor.

Cut and rinse cabbage, put straight from the rinse water into pot on top of cooked bacon cover pot lower heat to medium, steam cabbage until tender. add 1 can corned beef. ( you usually don't have to add any extra water)

Mixing corned beef into cabbage  continue cooking  until corn beef is heated thoroughly. add salt to taste, but  you should not have to add much since corned beef  usually has quite a bit of salt in it.
